Good evening Brandon! Thank you for being proactive in the college admissions process. You are never too early to prepare. I understand that it is an uncertain time but you must keep your head up and achieve all you set out to do despite these attacks. Here are some helpful tips on building leadership:
Clubs/Organizations: One of the most convenient ways to build leadership experience is being actively involved in clubs and/or community service organizations. Your full-time involvement in these activities can help you be a perfect candidate for a potential leadership position in a club or organization. These leadership positions often require additional responsibility and involvement in the club/organization's internal affairs. This simply shows college admissions committees that you are a leader and are able to work others in creating impact.
School Leadership Positions: Many high schools offer positions, such as student body president and junior class vice president, to allow exceptional students to be involved in school affairs. Positions require involvement in planing school spirit activities and being a representative of your peers. This can show college admissions committees that you are a voice for people and that you have the ability to bring people together to accomplish a goal.
Lastly, impressing colleges with your leadership qualities does not always require a leadership position. You can also exhibit leadership through your actions and involvement in the activities you are most devoted to.
I hope this explanation was helpful and that it will help you take steps in building your leadership experience. Please check out the Leadership page on our website for additional information. Continue to keep up the good work! We will get through this uncertain time together. Please share our organization with your friends, family and peers who may be interested and follow us on social media.
