Ways you can make yourself attractive to the best colleges are:
Participating in extracurriculars that you have devoted a lot of your time too( Remember universities care more about the quality of your extracurriculars than the quantity - participate in extracurriculars that truly make an impact).
Find ways you can get involved in your community such as volunteering at non-profit organizations or working with your school to increase their community outreach.
In regards to standardized testing, start preparing early. Through my personal experience, having enough time to study and take exams like the SAT and ACT is crucial. I suggest you begin studying sophomore year and take your first SAT or ACT at end of your sophomore year so you can figure what areas you may need to work on.
Make sure you keep your grades in check. Devote extra time to studying for tests and talking with teachers about any subjects that may be confusing. If there are any extra credit and/or test correction opportunities, take advantage of them. They will boost your grade. Additionally, I highly recommend taking honors and AP classes. These classes are designed to boost GPA and can show colleges that you can excel in more challenging classes
Keep up the good work Aaliyah! I'm here if you have any questions or concerns.
