Thank you so much for reaching out DeAndre! I would be happy to provide you with any advice.
GPA- Your GPA is fantastic. Continue to keep up the good work!
SAT- Your score is very good. Though many of the Ivy League universities consider your SAT scores, it is not the main focus of your application which can allow you to use other aspects of your application to highlight your identity and character to the college admissions committees.
Essays- From experience, each Ivy League school has a couple sets of questions ranging from 150 words to 500 words. In addition to your Common App essay, you will express in your writing your character, identity, and values through your involvement in extracurriculars, your background/experience, and your passions.
Interview- Though interviews are not required for Ivy League universities, you may be requested to do one. This may seem nerve-wracking but it can be very beneficial in how the college admissions committees view your application. It allows them to see how you embody the many achievements and strengths that you emphasized in your application. Also, it gives you a chance to share additional information you were unable to give in your application. If you decide not to do an interview, it will not negatively impact you.
Bonus Tip- Submitting your college application doesn't necessarily mean you're done yet. A hidden aspect of the college admissions process is ensuring you apply for financial aid (the FAFSA and/or CSS Profile). Each school has its specific financial deadline which is important to keep in mind. Please make sure your FAFSA and CSS Profile are completed by the school-specific deadline. Also, make sure all of the universities you are applying for are added to each application before you submit them.
I hope this will give you a better understanding of how to represent yourself as a competitive candidate to Ivy League universities. For more information check out our Black Up Plan. I continue to keep up the good work. I have faith in you!😊 I would greatly appreciate it if you could follow us on Instagram and/or X and spread the word to your friends, family, and peers.
