Hello again Lexi.smith15! I'm glad to hear you are eager to do your best on the SAT and/or ACT. Here is some helpful information to help you study.
Practice Tests- I cannot emphasize enough how helpful practice tests are for these standardized tests. Since you are now starting to prepare, I recommend that you take one diagnostic practice test to see what areas you need to work on. This will help you narrow down your studying to the areas you need more practice on. I suggest you study for about 2 weeks at a time until the test date (about 2-3 months in advance). After each two week period, take a practice test to see if you have improved.
SAT/ACT Resources- Here is a list of resources that can help you with your studying: Khan Academy (SAT lessons based on your actual SAT scores), Bluebook (free SAT practice tests), ACT.org (ACT practice tests), SAT Vocabulary Flashcards (ex. Barron's SAT Flashcards)
Types of SAT Scores for Ivy League Schools- The SAT scores Ivy League schools are looking for consist of high 1400s to high 1500s. Click here for a list of SAT ranges for Ivy League and elite colleges. Another thing to keep in mind is that some colleges are test-optional or don't require the submission of the SAT and/or ACT. Colleges that have this type of testing policy include but are not limited to Columbia University, Rice University and the University of Chicago.
I hope that this information will be helpful and I wish you the best in taking the SAT and/or ACT. I'm sure you will do amazing! Feel free to reach out for any more questions and please follow us on social for additional resources and advice. 😊
